Modern Abstractions

Moving from traditional methods and histories of oil painting to contemporary applications, Coudray creates an array of modern abstractions that continue to exhibit the brushwork of her landscape paintings, the compositions of her observational still-life paintings and the essence of her portraiture works. Coudray’s modern abstractions feature a dualistic relationship; that between playful shapes (objects) and grounded in color relationships. She curiously creates dimension in space and explores all parts of the picture plane. She embraces her love for impasto blended with moments of hyper-realistic detail and edge treatment. Coudray’s abstractions are a meaningful departure in her breadth of work.
